Proofs, Pipelines, and an Unplanned Detour

Things are moving.

The proof copy for Calculus of Trust is ordered and on its way. Distribution is set up across KDP, Draft2Digital, and Google Play. The last active piece is chasing some ARC reviews—getting the book into the hands of readers before launch so there’s something in the way of early feedback when it goes live.

After that, it’s mostly a matter of waiting for September 30 to arrive.

The Unplanned Detour

Here’s the thing about having time while you wait for a proof copy: you read.

I went back and re-read a section of Whispers in the Dark, and there was some phrasing I wasn’t happy with. Not structurally—the story is the story—but line-level stuff that I’ve gotten better at catching since I wrote it.

So I did a revision pass. Updated the files across all the platforms. It’s done now, and the version sitting in the retailers is cleaner than it was.

These things happen. A book goes out, you grow, you come back and see things you’d do differently. That’s not a crisis—it’s just how it works.

If you bought Whispers in the Dark early, you’ve got what is technically a first edition. I wouldn’t hold your breath for it to become a collector’s item (sorry) but it exists, and there’s something to be said for that.

What’s Next

Proof arrives, gets checked, and assuming it looks right, Calculus of Trust goes live on September 30.

In the meantime: ARC outreach, final checks, and trying not to invent reasons to rewrite anything else.
