Book Two: Draft 3.0 and a Title
Draft 3.0 of Book Two is under review.
For anyone who’s been following along, that’s the milestone where the structure is locked and the work shifts from rebuilding to refining. No more scene reordering. No more cutting entire sections and rewriting them from scratch. Just polish — line-level tightening, pacing adjustments, making sure every beat lands the way it’s supposed to.
It’s a good place to be.
The Title
Calculus of Trust.
The first contact was quiet. No ultimatum. No invasion. Just an offer — knowledge, freely given, with outcomes too clean to question.
A year later, the systems built on that offer are running. The approvals are legitimate. The decisions are correct. Nobody is lying.
The problem isn’t what was built. It’s what was built into it.
Where Whispers in the Dark was about discovery without permission, Calculus of Trust is about the gap between control and the appearance of it — and what happens when the only move left is the one that can’t be taken back.
More details on the book page.
What’s Next
Draft 3.0 finishes review, gets one more pass for consistency and polish, and then moves into the same pipeline Book One went through: beta readers, editing, cover design, production.
No release date yet. But the shape is solid, the story holds, and the work ahead is refinement rather than reconstruction.
That’s progress.
